Ginger  85

Ginger gave her mom insulin shots for 28 years. She loved to make cards and was quick to offer me tea and treats. 

Kay 100

Kay missed spring, hiking and swimming. Though almost totally blind, except for some light, she logged in every day to read her daily emails from her daughter.

When I asked Lois what kept her busy during the day she was quick to respond, " being old."

Eva  80

Eva bought herself a cake from the local bakery down the street and had it delivered to the retirement home for her 80th birthday.

Catherine, "Minnie"  94

When she was 17, Minnie jumped from a 30 foot tower on a dare from her boyfriend. Her boyfriend chickened out at the last minute. She has arthritis in her back which she says is from the jump.

Clare  100

Clare does 35 push ups and 35 sit ups everyday. He stresses the importance of stretching first.

He is  quick to share his faith (and his gratefulness for it) which was briefly lost after World War II.

Jud  97

Jud and his daughter have dinner every Monday and then return to his apartment and sing hymns which he has sung  for many decades.

 Bev worked for the Chamber of Commerce.  She began as a secretary and worked her way up to the assistant to the  Vice President of Economic Development and then was the assistant to the President. 

Chet   90

His first wife left him after 40 years of marriage  and told him to find someone he could be happy with.  He did.

Ellie   87

Ellie was an RN who took care of patients with polio. Her advice was to live every day the best you can. Her son commented that she had never said a negative word about anyone, ever.
